Southwest High School Classes of ’80 and ’81 Reunion Saturday, July 23rd, 20-22 7-11 PM Embassy Suites – Bloomington 06/26/22 Meeting Notes

 

Present: Nancy (chair), June, Jimmy, Betsy, Wai, Julie, Christi

 

1. Registration and Finances: —86 registered…Enough to break even ($5600 plus change)

—More registrations anticipated based on past events

—Reminder email to go out 7/2; cutoff for credit cards 7/8

—Add request for memorabilia (and names for memorials?) to that email

—Notify that payment at the door will be limited to check or QR link to alternative payment methods (Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, & Zelle).

—Preference is no cash at door; can be flexible if needed

—Help a friend money is still available; no know requests so far

—May be useful night of: “What do you feel comfortable paying tonight?”

 

2. Nametags:

—Nancy handling ’81

—Wai volunteered to do design workup and printing/work w/Paul, etc.

—May be able to run in two batches

—Will include blanks for day-of attendees

 

3. Fun Committee/Activity Schedule:

—List of schedule and activities per committee attached to this email —Good balance of scheduled and “organic” fun

—Likely kickoff at 7:30-8pm (based on number present)

—Julie will work on getting “how many of you…” questions together

—suggested live poll as an icebreaker

—June to drop off props to Jimmy 7/15

—Jimmy offered to get balloons

 

4. Food and Venue:

—Food committee to finalize choices (schedule in-person or zoom?)

—Decor to include flowers, pompoms, balloons; venue has candles

—Clarify who will be in charge of ordering cake (Kris?)

—Clarify who will bring flowers

 

5. Friday Happy Hour:

-- Veronica has confirmed the Friday date with Bunny's again.  She is planning on arriving at 3 with purple & white balloons to hopefully try to designate the back area for us to use.

 

6. Next Meeting: Zoom, Sunday July 10 at 4pm

—Objective: finalize logistics for day of event (decor, registration, etc)

-- Veronica cannot attend, so Nancy will chair the meeting.
