Southwest High School 40 year Reunion Committee Meeting Notes 1/5/2020
Present: Veronica Konold Legan, Margaret Kinsella Johnson, Kris Robb Evans, Christi Samples Siegel. Via

Venue:
 $500 Deposit Paid
 Cost is $55.00 for heavy hors d’oeuvres, unlimited keg beer and soda, desserts and coffee(?)
 Need to reserve block of rooms; agreed that 10 is a good starting point.
Invitations/Tickets:
 After discussion of platforms, agreed to stay with southwesthigh80.com.
(5.9% fee for credit card processing is competitive and will save administrative headaches; cost
to be absorbed)
 Save the date notice to go out Feb 1 with the price breakouts below
 Suggestion to request:
o donations to defray costs
o swag/gift items for the evening
o encourage folks to pass along invitation/send contact info for missing classmate
o interest in hotel room reservation
o Formal Invitations will go out April 1 ($50.00) June 1 ($60.00)
 Betsy will send a draft for review
 Cost at the door $70. Agreed we will not turn anyone away if they can’t cover the fee (ask how
much they can afford)
 Additional invitation “push” will go out … possibly May 1 and July 1 to “non-responders”
 Veronica will accept checks at her residence address
Publicity:
 It was suggested we find a website to put out postcards for those without email contacts but we
decided not to use post cards because they do not get returned for a bad address.
o Veronica, Christi, and others (if needed) I volunteered to mail them out. 
o We will have to decide what the return address should be....likely Veronica as she is also
receiving check payments

 Post to facebook page southwest class of 80 (maybe we can add some photos from next
meeting)
Activities:
 Margaret will work on an ice-breaker game
 We will set up a “selfie booth” and encourage people to send in photos that we will post.
Suggest that photos be reviewed before posting

 4pm on Feb 9 @ Veronica’s: 13580 Technology Dr #3125 Eden Prairie, MN
 Enter in the west entrance of Southwest Station Condominiums and park by the first door on
the right.  Then call Veronica at 612-709-5918, and she’ll come and let you in.
