Music at the reunion

Hellooo?!! Anyone out there?

Discussions at our reunion committee about music are like this:

"It can't be too loud or no one can talk."

"No dancing."

And yet we all know that music was an important part of our high school experience.... it's part of the "moment" and could be a fun thing when reconnecting with old friends. Yet, I agree.... we don't want loud music or dancing (awkward!). So.... I suggested we have a little corner set up with a record player (I'll provide it.) a few bean bag chairs and we can spin some good old vinyls....

Am I the only person who thinks that kind of retro moment would be fun with people we haven't seen in decades? Personally, Heart Dreamboat Annie would be the album I bring. Anyone else? Or should I just cave in to iPods, downloads, cds..... I thought actual albums would be fun...

Hi June and the rest of the Class of '80!  I just attended the class of '79 reunion in August and Teresa Welch's brother, Joe had a playlist that was perfect for the event.  Turns out everyone did want to dance to the sounds of the '70's - '80's later in the evening, and it was a blast.  Not saying someone shouldn't spend time spinning records, but iTunes takes the work out of it. Not sure where the event is going to be and if there is a sound system, but it worked really well at their reunion.  They also had a musician who played during the cocktail reception and dinner, which was a big hit.
