30-Year Reunion Committee Meeting – 3/7/10 Notes

Location Committee Update - Saturday, July 17th, 2010 at the Radisson University – Humphrey Ballroom
• Sound System for Vinyl, CD’s, & MP3’s – Christi will rent a sound system for about $150. No update.
• Slide Show – June & Jimmy – Will pester Facebook friends until June 11. June to determine if we need a projector and screen (smartboard).
• Nametags with senior picture need to be printed – June – Waiting until we know who is attending. Will have all yearbook photos available for any last minute attendees.
• Memorial display to be setup – Christi & Jonathon. Kristen will get flowers. Christi will bring a candle.
• Food Sub-Committee - Appetizer Selection – Christi, Susan, & Jonathon – Will work on later.
• Hire Photographer – Kristen’s younger sister is a professional photographer and will take pictures and post them to a site where we have the right to copy and print for $350. It was agreed to that Kristen will work on hiring her sister.
• Jonathan to work on SWAG (gift) bags. Ideas include customized Southwest pens, post-its, mints, caramels, CD’s with class roster and the Slide Show, “next morning kit” (aspirin, alka seltzer, water). Wayne has agreed to burn the on CD’s he donating. Jonathon will figure out the ‘per unit’ cost by the next meeting.

Fee for school to be open during happy hour time - ?
Room for committee (not needed – Wayne has an extra room reserved that we can use for changing)

Publicity Committee Update
• 168 classmates contacted electronically
• 88 classmates with good postal addresses were sent mailing for $38.38
• 11 people signed up (paid) for reunion
• Will send out email updates/reminders (e.g. – Fill out the surveys, send photos, countdown to price increase, etc.) roughly monthly.
• Will get reunion announcement into papers closer to event (6-8 weeks before event). StarTribune, Pioneer Press, Southwest Journal, etc.
• “Do you think you will attend” the Friday Happy Hour & Sunday Picnic” questions will be added to the registration form so we can get estimates.

Other Events:
• Happy Hour – Friday, July 16, 2010 – 5-7 – Chatterbox Linden Hills – School Tours – Jimmy. Jimmy will contact Alan to find out contact for arranging tours. Kristen to bring balloons/decorations to the restaurant.
• Picnic – Sunday, July 18, 2010 – Noon-3 – Beard’s Plaisance – Christi. We’ll want to remind people to bring their own food. We may have money left over for paper products.
